Today San Francisco’s Lands End Coastal Trail reopens after being closed for a little R&R (repairs and restoration). So collect your in-laws, relatives, or roommates for a scenic, casual hike that will shake your turkey coma loose. Start at the trailhead on Point Lobos Ave. near the Cliff House and stop at Eagle’s Point overlook near 32nd Ave. and El Camino Del Mar. Along the way you’ll take in rugged views the Marin Headlands, Mile Rock, and the crashing bay waves. Bird-watchers should be on the lookout for ospreys and hawks.
Don’t want to cook this Thanksgiving but still want to gobble? Follow the path past Lands End to the Beach Chalet. They’re hosting a $39-per-person prix fixe three-course dinner on Thanksgiving Day. The menu includes butternut squash soup and turkey with all the fixings. Reservations are required.
