Escaping the busy streets of greater San Jose is easy. Just hop on a bicycle and pedal along the 8 vehicle-free miles of Los Gatos Creek Trail for a flat ride that connects two lakes. Paralleling its namesake creek, the trail runs right through Vasona Lake County Park’s 45 acres of well maintained lawns—ideal for picnics, roaming, and rolling! A spin on the bike trail crosses bridges, winds through eucalyptus forests, and passes Little League fields on its way to the Lexington Reservoir, an artificial lake that’s a water supply and recreation area used for rowing, paddling and fishing. Return the way you came.
There are multiple access points to the Los Gatos Creek Trail. Campbell Park in Campbell (at the corner of Campbell Ave. and Gilman Ave.) has adequate parking and is a good starting point. To reach Vasona Lake County Park: From southbound Hwy. 17 in Los Gatos, exit Lark Ave. and travel east. Turn right on Los Gatos Blvd. and right again on Blossom Hill Rd. The entrance will be on your right. Dog-friendly!
