Just Your Type

Spring Outdoor Getaway to Mendocino County

We’re thinking of setting you up. We think we know your type … Outdoorsy. A stunning natural beauty. And super easygoing. Meet Mendocino County! It’s home to 90+ miles of pure coastline, 24 state and national parks, and the tallest lighthouse you can climb on the west coast! The 1,665-acre Point Arena–Stornetta Public Lands were recently designated a California coastal national monument. Hike along bluffs overlooking sea caves and keep an eye out for migrating gray whales. Next to Stornetta is Point Arena Lighthouse, where you can climb to the top, and the view is enlightening!

Just a few miles north of the coast-hugging village of Mendocino, Russian Gulch State Park has a 36-foot waterfall reached by hiking through lush Fern Canyon. Rent an outrigger canoe where the river meets the sea at Big River State Park and paddle peacefully past otters. Then catch an ocean sunset at either Spring Ranch or Mendocino Headlands State Park.
